10:50-12:05 Math/Science & Spanish Rotations
12:10-12:15 Clean up and closure in Communities
12:15 Kindergarten Pick up in the Front Rotunda

1:00-1:10 Opening for the Afternoon
1:10-2:20 Thematic Project Time (integrated Curriculum)- Independent or Collaborative Work Time. Also scheduled during this time: Exploratories, Drama, Drum Circle, Village Service, Wellness and Short Adventures.
2:20-2:40 Family Jobs
2:40-3:25 Fitness
3:25-3:35 Community Closure

Early Release Wednesday Schedule is the same as the Daily Student Schedule with the following changes:

1:00-2:00 Community Time
2:00 Students are Dismissed

At Westside Village, we believe the process of learning is just as important as the product. We believe that learning how to learn is just as important as learning the answers.

So teachers don’t lecture, they lead discussions. They provide guidance and make learning fun, so kids want to do more of it. There are no tedious work sheets to take home, no memorization, no busywork. Instead, there’s a real-world context to every assignment. That way, the lessons sink in and the learning goes deeper, much deeper.

Kids take responsibility for their learning and even help develop the curriculum. They set their own goals, plan their own time, organize their efforts and learn to follow-through. They develop the self-reliance they’ll need later in life.

These are few ideas of how we can communicate about our school. An easy way to start a conversation is to say, “this is what I see at Westside Village….” And share your own personal experiences and stories.
